The Lucky 13

    The Lucky 13

If you've visited our website you may notice a common theme.

The Lucky 13. The number 13 is somehow positively tied to my soul.

As a little girl, I was adopted by a man with the 13th for his birthday.

As an adult, my first real taste of marketing was at a local theme park. I was hired by a man with another 13th birthday. Mr. 13. It was there that I learned about my professional capabilities. Mainly that they were limited. Really limited. It could have been a field that I excelled in if I had been more patient. More disciplined. More structured. More focused. Sadly, I was rarely any of those things. I did however observe Mr. 13. I learned a lot about being an entrepreneur in those years. I was a good little sea sponge even if Mr. 13 never noticed. I couldn't remember a lot of what he said to me, but oddly enough I still remember his phone number to this day. Isn't it odd that his number ended with 1301?

    Anyway, moving on.

Along the way there were dozens of other examples where the 13 followed me, but it shouldn't be surprising that Jose and I's anniversary fell on a 1 3 too. Back then, I still didn't think too much of it. It wasn't until 2013 that I really even started to notice.

By the time I opened Treasures by the Sea in 2014, it was no surprise at all that our street address was 1301.

This year in 2017, when we reached our highest day of revenue, it too fell on the 13th. When we opened our doors for the second time in 2017, it also fell on the 13th of the month. 2 months later I discovered that both of our domain names, which were purchased almost a year apart, had both been purchased on the 13th.

Lately, we have embraced the luck of the 13 and we see it everywhere we go!

Now we share the luck of the 13 with you in everything we do, because it is the lucky 13 indeed.

We know we are weird for this and we are okay with it.

It might be cool to find Mr. 13 and let him know the impact the job had … He’d be clamoring to work for YOU now! Great story of the much maligned number 13!

I’m looking forward to trying your sea paint. Hopefully on or after the 3rd of May. I have painted many signs and the dry time is what takes so long. Love your FB page too. May you prosper and grow. 😊

Wow, could I ever tell you stories about what the #3 means in our life, my husband and me! And if you find 13 important, do I ever have a photo for you. A very clear “13” in a cloud! I posted it on FB. Some friends said “isn’t 13 an unlucky number?” Heck…in Italy, the number 13 is on everything, and if you google it, you will find jewelry, rings and charms, etc. containing a 13. It’s a symbol of good luck in Italy! For us, it is all about 3s in general. We met on July 13, 1981. He was 30, and I was 33. We are exactly 3 yrs. and 3 mos. apart in age. We married 3 months and 3 days to the day we met! 3s have followed us our whole lives. Our phone number when we moved turned out to have the last 4 digits “3333.” I am retired now. But I started my last job on Jan. 13, 2014. I retired on April 16, 2017. I worked at my job exactly 3 yrs., 3 mos. and 3 days to the day I retired. Yes…3s are quite prominent and those are only just a few of my 3s stories! So now you know why I was so intrigued by your 13 story! There just has to be something to it!

The number thirteen is a lucky number. The Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to the children at Fatima on the 13th day of the month for 6 months starting May 1917 through October1917. My last name also has 13 letters in it.
